The Magic of Summer Nights

The yearning for summer can be found everywhere. Children anxiously wait for their last day of school so they can be unleashed to the freedom that summer offers. Adults dream longingly from their office desks for a summer holiday that will bring them relaxation and rejuvenation. The thought of summer conjures up visions of sunshine, warm weather and a day that feels like it lasts forever.

And summer nights are the stuff that dreams are made of. What is the first thing you think about – besides the song in the movie Grease? Does your imagination take you back to a particular memory of a balmy evening when the electricity in the air was palpable? What does the thought of summer nights promise you? Endless fun? Freedom? Excitement? Romance?

For us at the Beach House, summer nights evoke a powerful nostalgia of a time when life is brighter and more carefree. They bring us back to fond childhood memories when we were able to break the rules and stay up past our bedtimes.

They remind us of cherished memories when we reconnected with family, friends and loved ones. We associate summer nights with bonfires, S’mores, dancing in the sand, moonlit walks on the beach, midnight swims in the sea, wishing upon a star and waiting for the sun to come up.

There is just something magical about summer nights. As sentimental as it sounds, they fill people with a sense of joy, anticipation, adventure and the feeling that anything is possible.

“Here’s to the nights where the sand is your seat, the waves kiss your feet and your friends outnumber the stars…”
