“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keefe
When we think about mandalas, we instantly visualise beautiful and intricate geometric shapes. There is a sense of wholeness, sacredness and spirituality. It comes as no surprise that mandalas are found universally and are considered a ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism.
The word mandala comes from the ancient Sanskrit language and loosely means “circle” or “center.” It’s a simple geometric shape that has no beginning or end. Within its circular shape, the mandala has the power to promote relaxation, lift spirits, balance the body’s energies, enhance creativity, increase self-awareness and support healing.
At our Beach House, we are all about encouraging relaxation and healing. One of the ways that we do this is by providing beautiful mandala colouring pages and colouring pencils to our guests. A simple but satisfying contemplative practice, colouring mandalas can be a meditative experience. We love that this activity is intuitive and appeals to all ages – and it helps us look within.

The healing benefits of mandala colouring include:

Relieving tension, anxiety, fear and worry
Relaxing and healing the mind, body and spirit
Freedom to express feelings in a non-threatening way
Stimulating creative thinking and problem solving

Begin your meditative journey at our Beach House by colouring in the beautiful mandala pages provided at the resort. Namaste!
