Our Beach House is lighting up the night for Earth Hour

Our Beach House is gearing up for an Earth-conscious weekend with a unique line-up of activities to celebrate Earth Hour 2017, taking place on Saturday March 25th from 8:30–9:30pm.

Earth Hour is a global initiative that encourages millions of people to celebrate the planet and raise awareness of climate change. We are proud to be participating in this worthy movement and will be encouraging guests to switch off their lights in their rooms during this time. Candles will light up the night throughout the hotel and bonfires will be ignited on the beachfront.

In anticipation of Earth Hour, we will be kicking off the weekend with Dark Night, taking place the evening before on Friday March 24th. This signature event takes place on the Friday closest to the New Moon and features Apothecary elixirs, holistic bites, star gazing, intention setting and other activities such as crystal jewelry making and vision boards. It is the perfect way to start off a weekend of becoming more grounded and attuned to Mother Earth!

On Saturday March 25th, we will be hosting an exciting Earth Hour program for the evening, kicking off with a special 10-minute guided beach meditation of the senses by Janelle Kroon, Owner of Bliss Yoga Cayman.

After the meditation session, we will continue the theme of Earth Hour at Anchor & Den by offering guests a special menu of dishes and cocktails made from local and sustainable ingredients, specifically created for the event along with live acoustic entertainment. Our Beach House advocates the Farm-To-Table concept in Cayman and part of its mission is to contribute to this growing movement and support local farmers by using sustainable products in its menus every day.

Guests will also receive a special gift as a remembrance of the night with small seedling pots that they can take home to plant. For those that are unable to bring this token gift with them on the plane, the hotel will be distributing sustainable pencils from green start-up company Sprout, which contains seeds that can be planted after use.

We hope that you join us for this special event to raise awareness for such an amazing cause!
