Secrets To Everyday Happy Living – Embracing Comfort

For Kinship 2018: A Year To Get Consciously Cozy, we are going back to the basics. We are creating magic in the ordinary. We are surrounding ourselves with comfort and coziness. We are taking pleasure in the small things in life and aspiring to make everyday tasks more dignified, joyful and beautiful. And this is a culture that we want to impart to our guests. We thought the word ‘kinship’ fits well with the theme because it represents community and one’s family, friends and loved ones – and that is exactly who we want to be share these special moments with.

We welcome you to experience our way of life and embrace our CaymanKind-inspired lifestyle. For the next few blog posts, we will be exploring what we feel are the Five Secrets to everyday happy living.

These Secrets have been inspired by what we believe are the five universal themes of our local kindness: Find Tranquility, Create Abundance, Treasure Togetherness, Embrace Comfort and Choose Kindness and Positivity.

For our Second Secret, we are dedicating ourselves to embracing comfort. We like to be spontaneous and informal at our Beach House. We believe that there is comfort in imperfection, in lived-in places and familiar faces. Activities that we offer to help guests embrace comfort and coziness include making scented sachets with dried flowers and spices that can be used to aid in relaxation and sleep or to be placed in clothes drawers to keep items smelling sweet and fresh as well as indulging in our Bomboneria. At our Beach House, we are in love with chocolate – the delicious flavours conjure up feelings of comfort and contentment. Our Bomboneria features exquisite chocolates and truffles made by our in-house Chocolatier, Denise.

In our pursuit for this Secret to Every Happy Living, we were captivated by the following quotes on embracing comfort. We hope they inspire you to feel cozy, content and peaceful.

“Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.” – Mark Twain

“There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.” – Jane Austen

“Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you.” – Lao Tzu

“We need to learn to enjoy the moment and cherish the little things. It is all about you being happy, content and at peace with oneself.” – Sofie Pedersen

“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” – Maya Angelou
