The Beach House Thanksgiving Tradition

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”– Melody Beattie

On the fourth Thursday in November every year, millions of Americans gather their loved ones for a Thanksgiving day filled with feasting and good cheer. Traditional dishes such as roasted turkey and gravy, stuffing, candied yams, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and our favourite – pumpkin pie; are shared between family and friends. It is a beautiful annual tradition and one of the few days during the year where loved ones can all get together, reconnect, give thanks for all their blessings and make beautiful memories.

Back in Cayman, we are also getting into the Thanksgiving spirit! We are getting busy in the kitchen to create an irresistible spread of Thanksgiving classics at our oceanfront restaurant Veranda. We welcome our American guests (and all those who want to partake in this delicious occassion) to join us for a traditional buffet feast in an unforgettable setting on Thursday, 28 November from 5:30pm.

At our Beach House, we like to treat everyday like Thanksgiving. We believe that gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions we can practice in our daily lives. And we love how our philosophy fits perfectly with this year’s theme, Abundance 2019: A Year To Honour Your Fullest Self. To us, Abundance is gratitude and seeing the richness in every moment. Abundance is love.

With it being American Thanksgiving, we wanted to share with you our favourite quotes on gratitude that we hope will put into perspective the power and importance of being thankful not just today, but as often as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving from our Beach House!
